- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 8 ounces guava paste, sliced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, sliced into small pieces
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.
- Roll out thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into 9 equal squares.
- Place a slice of guava paste and a small piece of cream cheese in the center of each square.
- Fold opposite corners toward the center and gently press to seal.
- Arrange pastries on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle evenly with granulated sugar.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Allow pastries to cool slightly before serving.

- Keep puff pastry cold for best flaky layers.
- Avoid overfilling to prevent leaking during baking.
- Chill assembled pastries for 10 minutes before baking for better shape.
