- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 1 (14.5 oz) can Italian-style diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 (14 oz) jar pizza sauce (or marinara)
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Italian seasoning, to taste
- 1 (16 oz) package gnocchi, cooked according to package instructions
- 1 1/2 cups Italian shredded cheese
- Pepperoni slices
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, breaking it into pieces.
- Drain any excess fat, then add the drained diced tomatoes and the pizza sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Season with garlic powder and Italian seasoning to taste. Let the mixture simmer for 3–5 minutes.
- Add the cooked gnocchi and stir to coat everything evenly in the sauce.
- Sprinkle the Italian shredded cheese over the top and add pepperoni slices.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve warm.

- For extra spice, use hot Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes.
- Swap pepperoni for cooked bacon or mini meatballs.
