Description

Soft, fluffy donuts with a sweet and spiced apple cider glaze, perfect for a cozy breakfast or dessert treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 16.3 oz can refrigerated biscuit dough, NOT flaky or butter flavored
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp warm apple cider
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Canola oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat canola oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. While oil is heating, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, warm apple cider, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Separate the biscuit dough and cut into halves or desired donut shapes.
  4. Carefully place the dough pieces into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove donuts from oil and drain on paper towels.
  6. Dip each warm donut into the apple cider glaze, ensuring even coating.
  7. Optionally, roll glazed donuts in sugar for extra sweetness and spice.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Do not use flaky or butter-flavored biscuit dough, as it will change the texture of the donuts.
  • Maintain oil temperature to avoid greasy or undercooked donuts.
  • Glaze can be thickened or thinned by adjusting the amount of apple cider.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 day; best served fresh.
