Description

Crockpot BBQ Meatballs are an easy and delicious appetizer or main dish featuring tender meatballs simmered in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, perfect for parties or busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 26-32 ounces frozen meatballs (or homemade meatballs)
  • 18 ounces barbecue sauce, your favorite
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Place frozen meatballs in the crockpot.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and butter until combined.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until meatballs are heated through and sauce is thickened.
  5. Stir occasionally during cooking to coat meatballs with sauce.
  6. Serve hot as an appetizer or over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes for a main meal.

Notes

  • You can use any type of meatballs: beef, turkey, or chicken.
  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of smoked paprika or chili powder to the sauce.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead and reheated; the sauce may thicken further as it cools—add a splash of water to loosen if needed.
