Description

Crock Pot Angel Beef Casserole is a rich, comforting slow cooker meal made with seasoned ground beef, cream cheese, and mushroom soup, layered over frozen tater tots for an easy and satisfying dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef, browned and drained
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cooking sherry or beef broth
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 oz package Italian dressing mix
  • 32 oz frozen tater tots, kept frozen

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, cooking sherry or beef broth, softened cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup, and Italian dressing mix until smooth.
  3. Add the browned beef to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Place the frozen tater tots in the bottom of a greased crock pot.
  5. Pour the beef and cream mixture over the tater tots, spreading evenly.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until hot and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm directly from the crock pot.

Notes

  • Do not thaw the tater tots; they cook best from frozen to retain texture.
  • Use beef broth for a non-alcoholic version.
  • You can add shredded cheddar cheese on top during the last 30 minutes for extra richness.
