Description

These Crispy Fried Lasagna Rolls are a fun and delicious twist on classic lasagna! Filled with a creamy ricotta mixture, rolled in pasta sheets, and coated in a crispy golden crust, they’re perfect as an appetizer, snack, or indulgent main course. Serve them with marinara sauce for dipping!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

For Breading:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the filling: In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Assemble the rolls: Lay each cooked lasagna noodle flat. Spread a thin layer of filling evenly over each noodle, then roll it up tightly.
  • Bread the rolls:
    • Dredge each roll in flour, shaking off excess.
    • Dip into the beaten eggs.
    • Coat with seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with parmesan cheese, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Fry the rolls: Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry each roll for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  • Serve: Slice the rolls in half and serve hot with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, air-fry at 375°F for 10-12 minutes or bake at 400°F for 15-18 minutes.
  • Add cooked ground beef or spinach to the filling for extra flavor.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
