Description

Creamy Lemon Shrimp is a rich and tangy seafood dish featuring tender shrimp in a luscious lemon-parmesan cream sauce, perfect over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails removed
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup half & half
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season shrimp with kosher salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sprinkle in flour and stir to form a roux, cooking for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in half & half until smooth and slightly thickened.
  6. Add lemon slices, parmesan cheese, and lemon zest. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce is creamy.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
  • Adjust lemon zest and slices to your taste for more tang.
  • Do not overcook shrimp to prevent them from becoming rubbery.
