Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2-3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 cups half & half (or milk)


Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil.

  • Add minced garlic and sautรฉ for about 3 minutes until fragrant.

  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Whisk to combine.

  • Pour in the half & half all at once while whisking constantly.

  • Cook and stir the mixture for around 3โ€“4 minutes until bubbly and thickened.

  • Adjust thickness with extra flour if needed. Remove from heat and use immediately or store.


Notes

  • This sauce thickens more as it cools. For thinner sauce, use milk instead of half & half.

  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat gently and whisk to bring back its creamy texture.

  • Delicious on flatbreads, pasta, garlic toast, or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks.
