Description

The Crab Rangoon Melt is a decadent, cheesy sandwich inspired by classic crab rangoon. Cream cheese and mozzarella blend with crab meat, green onions, and seasonings, grilled between slices of buttery sourdough for a melty, savory treat.

Crab Rangoon Melt:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (67.5 g) crab meat, drained
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • Sweet chili sauce, optional for dipping
  • Garlic chili oil, optional for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare Filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, green onion, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and crab meat. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Assemble Sandwiches: Spread filling evenly on 4 slices of sourdough bread. Top with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
  3. Butter Bread: Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  4. Grill: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill sandwiches 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  5. Serve: Serve warm with sweet chili sauce or garlic chili oil for dipping, if desired.
