Instructions
- Activate the Yeast:
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead and Rise:
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Breadsticks:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch the dough down and roll it into a rectangle, about ½ inch thick.
- Cut into 12-15 strips and arrange them on a greased baking sheet.
- Season and Bake:
- Brush the dough sticks with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, and Parmesan cheese.
