- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 small onion, minced
- 1 jalapeรฑo, seeded and minced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (15 oz) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 8 oz water
- 1 lime, juiced
Instructions

- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Once shimmering, add the onion and jalapeรฑo. Sautรฉ for 4-5 minutes until onions are translucent.

Add Garlic & Spices:
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add black beans, chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.

Simmer:
- Pour in the tomato sauce and stir, bringing it to a boil.
- Add water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring often.

- Stir in lime juice, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, replace water with vegetable or chicken broth.
