Description

Coconut Magic Bars are rich, chewy, and layered bars featuring a buttery graham cracker crust, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut, and pecans. Perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 15-16 full sheets)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 3/4 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1 2/3 cups sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat and stir in brown sugar until combined.
  3. Mix in graham cracker crumbs until evenly coated with the butter-sugar mixture.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Layer chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans evenly over the crust.
  6. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top layer, spreading gently with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and center is set.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

  • Press the crust firmly to ensure it holds together after baking.
  • For a slightly chewier texture, let bars sit overnight before cutting.
  • Substitute nuts as desired, or omit for a nut-free version.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
