- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warm
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add granulated sugar, softened butter, eggs, and salt. Mix until combined.
- Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle. In a small bowl, mix ground cinnamon and brown sugar, then sprinkle evenly over the dough.
- Roll tightly into a log and shape into a braid or place in a loaf pan.
- Let rise again for 30 to 45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 190 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Brush the top lightly with melted butter if desired and allow to cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
- Use warm milk, not hot, to avoid damaging the yeast.
- Do not rush the rising process for the softest texture.
- Measure flour accurately to prevent dense bread.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
