Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
    • In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, mashed banana, vanilla extract, salt, and remaining sugar. Add the yeast mixture and mix well.
    • Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and mashed banana until smooth and spreadable.
  • Assemble the Rolls:
    • Punch down the dough and roll it into a 12ร—18-inch rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
    • Place the rolls in a greased 9ร—13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Make the Glaze:
    • Whisk together the powdered sugar, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
