Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles (optional, for decorating)
  • Frosting of choice (optional, for piping on top)

Instructions

Preheat & Prepare:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease or line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.

2. Make the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and chocolate chunks (if using).

3. Bake the Cookie Cake:

  • Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 22-26 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool completely in the pan before decorating.

4. Decorate & Serve:

  • Pipe frosting around the edges and top with sprinkles, if desired.
  • Slice and serve!

Notes

  • For a softer center, slightly underbake the cookie cake by a minute or two.
  • Swap chocolate chips for M&Ms, white chocolate, or peanut butter chips for variety.
  • Best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
