For the Alfredo Sauce:
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or Cajun seasoning for a kick)
- 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
For the Butter Topping:
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 tsp fresh parsley, minced
Instructions
Make the Alfredo Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat.
- Add garlic and stir until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and seasonings, then bring to a gentle simmer for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is thick and creamy.
- Remove from heat and let cool while preparing the calzones.
Assemble the Calzones:
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into 4 equal circles (about 6 inches each).
- Spread 2 tbsp Alfredo sauce over half of each dough circle.
- Layer chicken and mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape.
- Seal the edges by pressing with a fork or pinching them together.
Air Fry the Calzones:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the tops with softened butter and place calzones in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
- Air fry for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
