Description

Chicago-style pigs in a blanket with flaky puff pastry, juicy mini sausages, and a crunchy topping of sesame and poppy seeds, perfect for parties or snacks.

Ingredients

  • Mini sausages, 12 pieces
  • Puff pastry dough, 1 sheet
  • Butter, 2 tablespoons, melted
  • Sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon
  • Poppy seeds, 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into strips wide enough to wrap each mini sausage.
  3. Place a mini sausage on each strip and roll to cover completely.
  4. Arrange wrapped sausages on the baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame and poppy seeds.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until puff pastry is golden and fully cooked.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving with mustard, ketchup, or preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold until ready to use for maximum flakiness.
  • Do not overbake; remove when golden brown and puffy.
  • Serve immediately for best texture, or reheat briefly in the oven.
