Description

A sweet, fruity twist on pizza, featuring a chewy, buttery pizza‑style crust topped with cherry pie filling, a crisp buttery crumble, and a sweet vanilla glaze.

Ingredients

  • Crust: 1 cup warm water, 2 Tbsp granulated sugar, 1 tsp active dry yeast, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 2 1/2 cups all‑purpose flour, 1 tsp kosher salt
  • Topping: 3 Tbsp melted unsalted butter, 3 Tbsp granulated sugar, 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • Crumble Topping: 1 cup all‑purpose flour, 2/3 cup granulated sugar, 6 Tbsp light brown sugar, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted, cooled slightly)
  • Glaze: 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 Tbsp milk, 1/4 tsp almond extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit ~5 min until foamy.
  2. Pour in half the oil; add flour and salt; stir to form dough.
  3. Transfer to greased bowl, cover and let rise 1 hr until doubled.
  4. Preheat oven to 450 °F; line a 12″ pizza pan with parchment and coat with remaining oil.
  5. Press dough into pan with dimples in surface; bake 10 min until lightly golden.
  6. Brush with melted butter–sugar mixture; spread cherry pie filling over crust.
  7. In a bowl, mix crumble ingredients until chunky; sprinkle evenly over cherries.
  8. Bake another 13–15 min until crumble is golden and filling bubbly.
  9. While warm, whisk glaze ingredients until pourable; drizzle over pizza.
  10. Let cool 5–10 min, slice, and serve (optionally with vanilla ice cream).

Notes

  • Store cooled dessert pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days or freeze slices up to 2–3 months.
  • Reheat in oven (~10 min) or microwave slice until warmed through.
  • Variations: swap cherry filling for apple, blueberry, or peach pie fillings.
  • Use good quality cherry filling, homemade or canned.
  • Oil the pan generously or use parchment to ensure easy release.
