Description
A sweet, fruity twist on pizza, featuring a chewy, buttery pizzaโstyle crust topped with cherry pie filling, a crisp buttery crumble, and a sweet vanilla glaze.
Ingredients
- Crust: 1 cup warm water, 2 Tbsp granulated sugar, 1 tsp active dry yeast, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 2 1/2 cups allโpurpose flour, 1 tsp kosher salt
- Topping: 3 Tbsp melted unsalted butter, 3 Tbsp granulated sugar, 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
- Crumble Topping: 1 cup allโpurpose flour, 2/3 cup granulated sugar, 6 Tbsp light brown sugar, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted, cooled slightly)
- Glaze: 1 cup confectionersโ sugar, 1 Tbsp milk, 1/4 tsp almond extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit ~5โฏmin until foamy.
- Pour in half the oil; add flour and salt; stir to form dough.
- Transfer to greased bowl, cover and let rise 1โฏhr until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 450โฏยฐF; line a 12โณ pizza pan with parchment and coat with remaining oil.
- Press dough into pan with dimples in surface; bake 10โฏmin until lightly golden.
- Brush with melted butterโsugar mixture; spread cherry pie filling over crust.
- In a bowl, mix crumble ingredients until chunky; sprinkle evenly over cherries.
- Bake another 13โ15โฏmin until crumble is golden and filling bubbly.
- While warm, whisk glaze ingredients until pourable; drizzle over pizza.
- Let cool 5โ10โฏmin, slice, and serve (optionally with vanilla ice cream).
Notes
- Store cooled dessert pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2โ3โฏdays or freeze slices up to 2โ3โฏmonths.
- Reheat in oven (~10โฏmin) or microwave slice until warmed through.
