Ingredients

For the Sliders:

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls

  • 1 cup (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

  • 4 tbsp sugar, divided

  • 2 cups cherry pie filling

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup water

For the Drizzle:

ย

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tsp whole milk

  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  • Using a bread knife, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally to create a top and bottom layer. Set aside.

  • In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and egg yolk with a hand mixer until smooth.

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter with 1 tbsp sugar and spread it evenly in the bottom of a 9ร—13 baking pan. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the pan.

  • Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Top with cherry pie filling, then place the top half of the rolls over the filling.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush it over the tops and sides of the rolls. Sprinkle the remaining 3 tbsp sugar over the top.

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle over the warm sliders.

ย

  • Sprinkle with sliced almonds and serve warm.
