Description

This Cheesy Tortellini Bake is a delicious, easy-to-make one-skillet dinner loaded with ground beef, savory herbs, pasta sauce, and melty cheese. Perfect for a family meal!


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3โ€“4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 24 oz pasta sauce
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 22 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF.
  2. Heat olive oil in a 12-14 inch oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until no pink remains, breaking the meat up as it cooks.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Stir in pasta sauce, water, and all herbs. Bring to a simmer, then stir in tortellini and mix everything until well combined. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for about 20 minutes, or until tortellini is cooked through.
  6. If desired, remove foil at the end and broil for a few minutes to brown the cheese.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add some red pepper flakes for a slight kick.
  • Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a lighter version.
