Description

The Chambord Sidecar is a sophisticated cocktail that combines the rich, fruity essence of Chambord with the zesty brightness of fresh lemon juice and the warmth of cognac. This modern take on the timeless Sidecar is perfect for celebrations, dinner parties, or a relaxing evening in.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 oz Chambord (black raspberry liqueur)
  • 1 oz cognac or brandy
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Ice (for shaking)
  • Lemon twist or fresh raspberries (for garnish)
  • Sugar (optional, for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass:
    1. If desired, rim the edge of a coupe or martini glass with sugar. To do this, rub a lemon wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into a plate of sugar.
  2. Mix the Cocktail:
    1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
    2. Add Chambord, cognac, lemon juice, and simple syrup (if using).
  3. Shake:
    1. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well-chilled.
  4. Strain and Serve:
    1. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
  5. Garnish:
    1. Garnish with a lemon twist or a couple of fresh raspberries for an elegant finish.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness to taste by adding more or less simple syrup.
  • For a citrus-forward variation, increase the lemon juice slightly.
  • Serve over ice in a rocks glass for a more casual presentation.
