Description

This Cast Iron Skillet Pizza uses frozen bread dough for a quick and delicious homemade pizza with a crispy crust. Topped with marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni, parmesan, and fresh basil, it’s perfect for a cozy dinner or a fun weekend treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the frozen bread dough to fit your cast iron skillet.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Place the dough in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes to start forming the crust.
  4. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and add pepperoni slices.
  5. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh basil before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy crust, preheat the skillet in the oven before adding the dough.
  • Feel free to customize toppings with vegetables, different cheeses, or meats.
  • Use parchment paper to make cleanup easier if desired.
