Description

Decadent Caramel Chocolate Bars with a buttery oat base, rich chocolate chips, crunchy pecans, and a luscious caramel topping—perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups cold butter, cubed
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 jar (12 ounces) caramel ice cream topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture is crumbly. Press half of this mixture into the prepared pan to form the bottom layer.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans evenly over the partially baked crust.
  6. Drizzle caramel topping over the chocolate and nut layer.
  7. Mix remaining 1/4 cup flour with the leftover crumb mixture and sprinkle on top.
  8. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute walnuts or almonds for pecans if preferred.
  • For extra gooeyness, warm the caramel slightly before drizzling.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
