Description

These sweet and salty Rice Krispie treats combine the ultimate Halloween flavor duoโ€”candy corn and salted peanuts! The buttery, marshmallowy base gets an extra boost of richness from sweetened condensed milk, making these treats extra chewy and indulgent. Perfect for Halloween parties or a festive fall snack!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Nonstick cooking spray & a few tbsp softened butter (for greasing the pan)
  • 6 heaping cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag large marshmallows
  • 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup (or more) candy corn
  • 2 1/2 cups salted peanuts

Instructions

1๏ธโƒฃ Prepare the Pan:

  • Lightly spray a 9-inch square baking pan with nonstick spray.
  • Line with parchment paper, leaving overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  • Butter the bottom of the parchment and set aside.

2๏ธโƒฃ Make the Marshmallow Mixture:

  • Place Rice Krispies in a large bowl.
  • In a large heavy-bottom saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Continue cooking until butter browns slightly, whisking to lift browned bits.
  • Add sweetened condensed milk, stirring until it just starts to bubble.
  • Add marshmallows and salt, stirring until melted and smooth.

3๏ธโƒฃ Combine & Shape:

  • Immediately pour the melted marshmallow mixture into the bowl of cereal.
  • Stir quickly to coat the cereal evenly.
  • Transfer mixture into the prepared pan, pressing into all edges with a spatula.

4๏ธโƒฃ Add Toppings:

  • While still warm, press salted peanuts and candy corn into the top.
  • Use more peanuts than candy corn for a balanced sweet-salty flavor.

5๏ธโƒฃ Cool & Serve:

  • Let the treats set at room temperature for a few hours.
  • Slice into squares and serve!
  • Store at room temperature, wrapped individually if needed.
