Ingredients

  • 8 ounces fettuccine or your favorite pasta (gluten-free for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1 cup parmigiano reggiano (parmesan), grated
  • 1/2 tablespoon cajun seasoning or to taste
  • 1/4 cup green onion, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  • Start cooking the pasta according to the package instructions.
  • Melt the butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Toss the shrimp in the cajun seasoning and add them to the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, then set aside.
  • Add the chopped garlic to the pan and sautรฉ until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Deglaze the pan with the white wine (or chicken broth). Add the heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and cajun seasoning. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce and mix well. Add the cooked shrimp and stir to combine.
  • Serve the pasta garnished with sliced green onions (optional).

Notes

  • Option: Add extra cajun seasoning for a spicier kick.
  • Optional garnish: Serve with additional parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of parsley for extra flavor and color.
