  • 1 pound loaf bread (such as ciabatta), halved (use gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara sauce)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 ounces pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 cups romaine lettuce, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup croutons, coarsely crushed
  • 1/4 cup Caesar dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450ยฐF (230ยฐC).
  2. Spread pizza sauce on both the top and bottom halves of the bread. Sprinkle mozzarella on both sides, then layer pepperoni and Parmesan on one side.
  3. Place the sandwich open-faced on a baking sheet and bake until cheese melts, about 5โ€“10 minutes.
  4. While baking, toss lettuce, croutons, and Caesar dressing together in a bowl.
  5. Remove sandwich from oven. Top the bottom half with Caesar salad mixture, close with top half, slice, and serve warm.
