Description

These Cadbury Egg Cupcakes are a fun and delicious Easter treat! Each chocolate cupcake features a hidden surpriseโ€” a whole frozen Cadbury Caramel Egg inside. Topped with chocolate frosting and mini Cadbury Eggs, these cupcakes are a fun way to celebrate the season!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box Devilโ€™s Food cake mix (plus ingredients required for the cake) or your favorite chocolate cake recipe
  • Chocolate frosting
  • 10 frozen Cadbury Caramel Eggs (unwrapped)
  • 10 mini Cadbury Caramel Eggs
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ยฐF. Prepare a cupcake pan with liners and spritz with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat together the cake mix and ingredients as per the instructions on the box or your homemade chocolate cake recipe.
  • Use a large scoop to divide the batter between the cupcake liners.
  • Place one frozen, unwrapped Cadbury Caramel Egg in the center of each cupcake liner.
  • Bake cupcakes for 15 to 18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the sides of the egg comes out clean. (Do not pierce the center where the egg is located.)
  • Allow cupcakes to cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Pipe frosting from the center of each cupcake to the outer edge and back to the center to create a peak.
  • Press one mini Cadbury Caramel Egg into the peak of each cupcake. Decorate with sprinkles if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure that the Cadbury Eggs are frozen before baking to prevent them from melting too much during baking.
  • These cupcakes are perfect for Easter parties or as a festive spring dessert.
  • Feel free to adjust the frosting style and sprinkle decorations for your own creative twist.
