Description

A delicious and easy appetizer, this bruschetta with cheese combines crisp toasted baguette slices with juicy tomatoes, fragrant herbs, and melted mozzarella and provolone cheese for a savory bite.


Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch ground white pepper
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (6 ounce) package sliced provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush each slice with olive oil.
  4. Top each slice with a few thin slices of tomato.
  5. Sprinkle basil, oregano, garlic powder, and white pepper evenly over the tomatoes.
  6. Add a slice of mozzarella and a slice of provolone cheese to each piece of bruschetta.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10โ€“12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and serve warm.

  • Use fresh mozzarella for a creamier texture.
  • Swap herbs based on preferenceโ€”thyme or parsley also work well.
