- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 10-ounce package mini marshmallows
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 6 cups rice crispies cereal
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 3/4 cup dark chocolate baking chips
- 3 tablespoons Valentine sprinkles
Instructions
- Line a square pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
- Reduce heat to low and add the mini marshmallows, stirring until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the rice crispies cereal and crushed pretzels until evenly coated.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in the dark chocolate baking chips.
- Quickly fold in the Valentine sprinkles.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and gently press it in without packing tightly.
- Allow to set at room temperature before slicing into bars.
Notes
- Do not overheat the marshmallows to keep the treats soft.
- Press gently into the pan for a chewy texture.
- Add chocolate after removing from heat so it does not fully melt.
