- 1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
1. Prepare the Sausage Gravy:
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a deep skillet over medium heat, cook the pork sausage, breaking it into crumbles until fully browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter, scraping up any flavorful browned bits.
- Whisk in the flour, ensuring itโs fully combined.
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking continuously to prevent clumps. Bring to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for 30-60 seconds on low heat.
2. Assemble the Casserole:
- Grease a 9โณx13โณ baking dish and pour in the sausage gravy.
- Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and evenly spread them over the gravy.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush over the biscuit pieces.
