Description

Basil Pesto Bread Rounds are crispy, cheesy bites made with French baguette slices topped with a flavorful mixture of mayonnaise, basil pesto, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for a savory appetizer or side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 (1 pound) loaf French baguette
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup basil pesto
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the French baguette into ½-inch thick rounds and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, basil pesto, minced garlic, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Spread a generous amount of the pesto mixture on each baguette slice.
  5. Sprinkle a little salt over the top to taste.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, broil the bread rounds for 1-2 minutes after baking.
  • If you prefer a stronger pesto flavor, you can add more basil pesto to the spread.
