Scale
- 2 racks x 700g (1.5 pound) pork ribs, seasoned
- 300 g (1 1/3 cup) ketchup
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 80 g (1/4 cup) brown sugar
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp mustard
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- Place the seasoned pork ribs on a baking tray lined with foil.
- In a saucepan, combine ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, and water.
- Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, about 10–15 minutes.
- Brush the ribs generously with the BBQ sauce.
- Cover the ribs with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2–2.5 hours, until tender.
- Remove foil and brush ribs with more BBQ sauce. Increase oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
- For extra smoky flavor, finish the ribs on a grill instead of the oven.
- You can make the BBQ sauce ahead and store it in the fridge for up to a week.
- Adjust sweetness or tanginess of the sauce to taste by adding more brown sugar or vinegar.
