Description

  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 425ยฐF.
  2. Grease an 8ร—8-inch baking dish and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Beef & Sauce

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sautรฉ for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, and black pepper. Bring to a low simmer, then remove from heat.

Step 3: Layer the Ravioli

  1. Spoon ยฝ cup of sauce into the bottom of the greased baking dish.

  2. Add โ…“ of the frozen ravioli in a single layer.

  3. Sprinkle with โ…“ of the ground beef and ยผ cup mozzarella cheese.

  4. Pour about 1 cup of sauce over the layer.

  5. Repeat the layers: ravioli, ground beef, cheese, and sauce.

  6. For the final layer, add the remaining ravioli, ground beef, and sauce. Ensure the sauce completely covers the ravioli.

  7. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Step 4: Bake the Ravioli

  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  3. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add Parmesan cheese or Italian seasoning to the sauce.
  • Want it creamy? Mix in ยฝ cup ricotta cheese between the layers.
