Description

Sweet and spicy baked chicken thatโ€™s packed with flavor while still being light and delicious!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup hot/chili sauce (such as Frankโ€™s Red Hot or Sriracha)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pound boneless and skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat the hot sauce, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and red pepper flakes until the sugar has dissolved into the sauce.
  • Heat the oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add it to the pan and brown the chicken for about 3-5 minutes on each side.
  • Transfer the skillet to a preheated 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) oven and bake the chicken until cooked through, about 10-15 minutes, basting with the sauce every 5 minutes.
  • Serve the chicken with the remaining sauce for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Option: Adjust the amount of chili sauce and red pepper flakes to your preferred level of spice.
  • Option: Serve with a side of rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
