Ingredients
For the Cabbage Nests
- 3 cups shredded green cabbage
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Burgers
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat & Prep – Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Make the Cabbage Nests – In a bowl, toss shredded cabbage with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Arrange into four nest-shaped mounds on the baking sheet.
3️⃣ Form the Burgers – In another bowl, mix ground beef with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and egg. Shape into four patties. If using cheese, mix it into the meat mixture.
4️⃣ Assemble & Bake – Place each patty on top of a cabbage nest. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the burgers reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
