Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz wheel of brie
  • 1/3 cup fig jam (or preserves of choice)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Flaky sea salt, for serving
  • Crostini, apple slices, or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a small baking dish or cast iron skillet with parchment paper.
  • Score the Brie:
    • Using a sharp knife, score the top of the brie in a crosshatch pattern.
    • Be careful not to cut too deep into the cheese.
  • Add the Jam & Topping:
    • Spread the fig jam evenly over the brie.
    • In a small bowl, mix walnuts, honey, orange zest, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
    • Spoon the walnut mixture over the brie.
  • Bake:
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is soft and melty.
  • Serve & Enjoy:
    • Garnish with fresh thyme and flaky sea salt.
    • Serve warm with crostini, sliced apples, or crackers.

Notes

  • Swap fig jam for apricot, raspberry, or cranberry preserves.
  • For extra flavor, drizzle balsamic glaze before serving.
  • Try using pecans or almonds instead of walnuts for variety.
  • If using puff pastry, wrap the brie, brush with egg wash, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes.
