- For the crust:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- For the topping:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- For the glaze:
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter until combined. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake crust for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Prepare the topping: In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add flour, sugar, and eggs, mixing until well combined. Fold in 6 ounces of chocolate chips.
- Pour the cream cheese and chocolate mixture over the pre-baked crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until topping is set. Remove from oven and let cool.
- Prepare the glaze: Melt 6 ounces chocolate chips and spread over cooled bars. Sprinkle toasted nuts evenly on top of the glaze.
- Allow bars to set completely before cutting into squares and serving.
