- 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grease a 9 inch round cake pan.
- Pour 2 tablespoons melted butter into the bottom of the pan and sprinkle 1/4 cup granulated sugar evenly over it.
- Arrange the sliced apples in a circular pattern over the sugar layer.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup melted butter and 3/4 cup granulated sugar. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter evenly over the arranged apples and smooth the top gently.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges.
- Place a serving plate over the pan and carefully flip the cake onto the plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- Do not overmix the batter to keep the crumb tender.
