- 1 loaf cinnamon swirl bread
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 4 ounces apple pie filling, chopped fine (or cinnamon applesauce)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
- Cinnamon Buttermilk Caramel Sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Flatten slices of cinnamon swirl bread with a rolling pin.
- In a small bowl, mix cream cheese and chopped apple pie filling until combined.
- Spread the cream cheese and apple mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
- Roll up each slice tightly and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Brush melted butter over each roll up and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Serve warm with powdered sugar sprinkled on top and optional cinnamon buttermilk caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Use slightly stale bread for easier rolling.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar topping.
