2 cups milk, divided

4-5 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat & Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and grease a 9ร13-inch baking dish.

Make the Hamburger Patties

In a bowl, mix ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Form into 6 evenly sized patties.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the patties on both sides (they donโt need to be fully cooked). Set aside.

Prepare the Gravy

In the same skillet, whisk together 1 cup milk and flour until smooth.

Slowly add the remaining 1 cup milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens into a gravy.

Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.

Assemble the Casserole

Layer half of the potato slices in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Add half of the onion slices on top.

Arrange the browned hamburger patties over the onions.

Layer the remaining potatoes and onions on top.
