Description

Air Fryer Cabbage Steaks are a quick and flavorful side dish, seasoned with Old Bay, parmesan, and savory spices, then air-fried to caramelized, tender perfection. Perfect for a healthy, low-carb, and vegetarian meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (per cabbage steak)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons shredded parmesan, very finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Optional: lemon wedges and chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of water underneath the air fryer basket to prevent smoking.
  2. Preheat air fryer to 360ยฐF (180ยฐC) for 5 minutes.
  3. Slice cabbage into 3/4-inch thick steaks.
  4. In a bowl, mix all seasoning ingredients: Old Bay, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, parmesan, and parsley.
  5. Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with melted butter or olive oil.
  6. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture generously over each cabbage steak.
  7. Place one or more cabbage steaks into the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  8. Air fry for 8 minutes. For crispier edges, add 2 more minutes and check for doneness.
  9. Repeat until all steaks are cooked.
  10. Serve with lemon wedges and chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife to slice cabbage evenly for even cooking.
  • Air fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste โ€“ add chili flakes for heat or more cheese for richness.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.
