- 1 head cabbage
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (per cabbage steak)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons shredded parmesan, very finely grated
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Optional: lemon wedges and chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Pour 1/4 cup of water underneath the air fryer basket to prevent smoking.
- Preheat air fryer to 360ยฐF (180ยฐC) for 5 minutes.
- Slice cabbage into 3/4-inch thick steaks.
- In a bowl, mix all seasoning ingredients: Old Bay, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, parmesan, and parsley.
- Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with melted butter or olive oil.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mixture generously over each cabbage steak.
- Place one or more cabbage steaks into the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
- Air fry for 8 minutes. For crispier edges, add 2 more minutes and check for doneness.
- Repeat until all steaks are cooked.
- Serve with lemon wedges and chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use a sharp knife to slice cabbage evenly for even cooking.
- Air fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Adjust seasoning to taste โ add chili flakes for heat or more cheese for richness.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.
