Description

Fresh and flavorful ahi tuna burgers lightly seared and topped with crisp vegetables and a creamy sriracha aioli. These seafood burgers are tender, juicy, and packed with bold coastal flavor, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound fresh ahi tuna steak, finely chopped
  • 4 burger buns, lightly toasted
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 4 large lettuce leaves
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrot
  • 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 whole lime, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the ahi tuna into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add sliced green onions, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix to combine without overworking the tuna.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties and refrigerate for 10 minutes to help them firm up.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place tuna patties in the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until lightly seared on the outside and still tender inside.
  6. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and sriracha sauce to create the aioli.
  7. Lightly toast the burger buns.
  8. Spread sriracha aioli on the buns, add lettuce, tuna patty, shredded carrot, shredded red cabbage, and top bun. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the tuna to keep the patties moist.
  • Keep the tuna chilled until ready to cook for best texture.
  • Adjust the amount of sriracha for desired spice level.
  • Store cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
