Ingredients

Units Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz short pasta (penne or fusilli)

Canned Tuna

  • 1 can (about 5 oz) chunk light or solid white tuna, packed in water

Olive Oil

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Garlic

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Cherry Tomatoes

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

Parsley

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your chosen pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about half a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
  2. Sautรฉ the Garlic: In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sautรฉ for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Add Tomatoes and Tuna: Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes until they soften. Then, add the canned tuna, breaking it up gently as you mix it in.
  4. Combine with Pasta: Add the drained pasta back to the pot. Toss everything together, incorporating the reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is achieved.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and toss with fresh parsley. Serve warm, garnished as desired.

Notes

  • Perfect Pasta: Make sure to cook the pasta al dente for the best texture.
  • Flavor Boost: Use lemon zest for an extra layer of flavor.
  • One-Pot Wonder: Keep everything in one pot for minimal cleanup and maximum flavor.
  • Stay Fresh: Use fresh parsley for a vibrant finish, as dried herbs can lose their potency.
  • Taste as You Go: Adjust seasonings according to your preferences while cooking!
